Free shows at the Edinburgh Fringe 2026

483 shows at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2026 are free to attend, either free non-ticketed or free ticketed.

The distinction matters. Free non-ticketed shows have no allocation at all: turn up, get in if there is room, and put something in the bucket on the way out. Free ticketed shows cost nothing but have a real, finite allocation, so they can and do sell out — those are worth booking.

You can build an entire Fringe out of these. The free programme is where a lot of the best new material is.
