About this show
What do you do when your life explodes? 1/3 play, 1/3 stand-up, 1/3 rave. Kate Dehnert's life recently blew up. We're talking: relationship, career, income, opportunities, visa, losing almost all of her possessions, what country she lived in, she almost died and for some incredibly annoying reason she now has a way-too-overactive gag reflex. Like, she could stand in front of you and if you told her to vomit, she could. What the hell? Go out to dinner, drink some cocktails and meet Kate in the club – it's going to get raw. ½ (Chortle.co.uk).

You get used to a wee bit of press hyperbole when you’ve covered the Fringe for a while, so when Kate Dehnert’s ‘Echo’ was described as ‘the breakup show to end all breakup shows’ it drew a knowing smirk.
She manages the tone brilliantly, mixing self-deprecation, emotional brutality and pithy wit – a true masterpiece of the genre and a must-see.

Echo is one of the most fearless and honest explorations of heartbreak I’ve ever witnessed; Dehnert’s nuanced human performance left the audience oscillating between moments of shocked silence and uncontrollable…
