About this show

Extraordinary Alien. A Jewish actress and mum from Leeds moves to New York on her husband’s visa – then loses her status overnight. With no choice but to apply for an “extraordinary ability” visa, she must prove she’s exceptional. Cue characters, chaos, dodgy accents and a full-blown identity crisis. From kids and culture clashes to ego, guilt and the desperate need to be seen as enough, she spirals across two continents. Fast, fierce and unapologetically funny, this is a no-holds-barred solo-show about ambition, impostor syndrome and never quite fitting in – no matter where you land.

  • Navigating US immigration is strange enough without having to prove you are extraordinary. Debra Tammer turns real-world career chaos and family life into smart, sharp solo comedy at Shanghai at Le Monde.
