About this show

Graham has been the star contestant of a popular gameshow for either 4 or 327 days. Led by a series of violently charming hosts, Graham and the audience compete in a game neither party understands. The tasks are invasive, the stakes mysteriously high and the audience increasingly implicated. Part performance art, part improv show, part ethics inquiry, How to Win a Gameshow blurs the line between performer and audience-rendering everyone subject to scrutiny under the watchful eye of an ever-present, controlling, overarching force.

What the reviewers said

We have captured 5 published reviews and 33 audience reviews for this show from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe’s own listing. The excerpts below are the reviewers’ words, not ours — follow each link for the full review.

  • Interactive shows can often be an audience member’s worst nightmare. Instead of being able to watch something quietly, you are dragged to the forefront and made visible to all.

    Broadway Baby

  • The cast are uniformly excellent and adept at dealing with any and all curveballs the audience might throw. There's dancing, there's singing, there's a very tantalising cash prize..

The Smu Reviews (5 out of 5 stars)

  • How to Win a Gameshow is actualising a consent we give on an almost daily basis to faceless entities. It is showing us what forms of liveness we recognise more readily than others.

Binge Fringe (5 out of 5 stars)
