About this show

England. Lock down. 2:20AM. A man fights to make it home. In his morphine-fuelled delirium, we relive his past: a boxer, a soldier and a miner. Is it fate, or will, that decides when we return to dust? DUST is dedicated to the servicemen who fought for their country, the seven men who tragically died in the Lofthouse Colliery disaster of 1973, and every miner who lived their lives in darkness so we could live in the light. Based on a true story and infused with Northern grit, humour and soul. Adelaide Fringe Award Winning Show.

What the reviewers said

We have captured 6 published reviews and 55 audience reviews for this show from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe’s own listing. The excerpts below are the reviewers’ words, not ours — follow each link for the full review.

  • A reminder of the ephemeral nature of human life, you will leave Dust yearning to hold loved ones close. It is a tribute to generations before us, and the sacrifices they made for us to live today.

North West End UK (5 out of 5 stars)

  • The script is fast paced, the writer works her audience hard to make them keep up, the lines darting around and slippery. Concentrate, concentrate.

    FringeReview

  • ‘DUST’s flyer is festooned with five-star ratings: deservedly so. It’s a gut-punch of a play, and Craig McCardle’s viscerally expressive performance stays with you like an emotional fat-lip.

Three Weeks (5 out of 5 stars)
