About this show
Based on the story by Charlotte Perkins Gilman, this six-person dance thriller is a 'hauntingly beautiful' * (TheatreVillage.co.uk) 'balletic psychodrama' * (GetYourCoatsOn.com), brought to life through a fusion of visceral choreography and classic text. While undergoing treatment for "female hysteria", Jane is confined to a room of yellow wallpaper. As the weeks pass, the wallpaper takes on a horrifying life of its own. Jane becomes convinced that there are women trapped within the walls, and that it is up to her to set them free.

The dance is near-flawless and the choreography equally well-conceived, avoiding the trap of conspicuously aping the story yet capturing its fluctuating mood.
— The Wee Review (5 out of 5 stars)
Intimate and claustrophobic in theatrical style, The Yellow Wallpaper is a haunting fusion of dynamic dance, emotional storytelling and filmic music which turns Jane’s descent towards madness into a mesmerising Feminist…
— Edinburgh Guide (4 out of 5 stars)
This dance retelling of Charlotte Perkins Gilman’s short story uses immersive, frantic movements to mirror female entrapment as the protagonist descends into madness.
— The List (4 out of 5 stars)
