Emma moves between two worlds. By day she is a journalist; by night she disappears into a hidden subculture. Set against the backdrop of an unravelling America, rave culture and heartbreak, she finds a community that gives her something the outside world can't – a vision of a different future. Following the success of last year's Offie-nominated This Blighted Star (BroadwayBaby.com), (TheReviewsHub.com), (CorrBlimey.co.uk), award-winning company COGGIA returns with another ambitious piece of theatre-making. This Charlie Harthill-shortlisted play urgently asks: what is the cost of searching for a better future?

The Late Utopians is not the first play of my EdFringe that explores what happens when people finally decide that those with the power are holding it not for the masses but for the elite.
