Feng Suzhen, a wealthy young woman, defies her family to pursue her poor lover, Li Zhaoting. When he's unfairly imprisoned, she cuts her hair, sitting the Imperial Examination disguised as a man. In a twist, she ends up winning first place and is chosen to marry the Emperor's young daughter! Adventures follow... The Lady Prince is a beloved Huangmei Opera classic exploring love, gender and fate. Featuring lyrical music and vibrant costumes, this production showcases the beauty of Huangmei Opera, rarely seen in Europe and known for its evocative storytelling. Sung in Chinese with English surtitles.
