When the mediocre scholar, Wang, drunkenly takes on a dare to invite the Red Judge of the Underworld to dinner, he finds his fortune magically turning for the better - but be careful of what you wish for. A Chinese Grimm tale of greed, lust and vengeance, based on ghost and fox tales from Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio by Pu Songling in the 18th-century. From the teams behind Fringe sell-outs, The Unknown Soldier and The Ballad of Mulan.
