About this show

Welcome to the Battered Book Club a live, chaotic literary event. Hosted by comedians Alexandra Haddow ('Charmingly confessional', (Guardian)) and Jamie Finn ('Fresh and funny', (Michael Palin)), featuring special guests, the premise is simple: it’s book club, but fun! And maybe a little tipsy. What begins as a thoughtful and interesting discussion of literature and the book at hand quickly descends into passionate over-analysis, misremembered plot points, dramatic readings of questionable quality, and the kind of confidence that only two pints can provide. Part literary salon, part late-night lock-in.
