About this show

PTSD and a phone full of coping mechanisms. Compulsive fantasist Kit flees the North-East, convinced London will fix everything. When a text from her ex detonates her recovery, she spirals through therapy, chaos and increasingly elaborate fantasy scenarios. In the age of doomscrolling, trauma-dumping and curated identities, Kit is determined to stay the main character - because if she doesn't laugh, she'll cry and post it. SLAY is a darkly funny North-East reckoning by Offie-nominated writer-performer Lois-Amber Toole, directed by Fringe First winner Anna Morris, and produced by award-winning producers Katy Koren and Gina Lyons.

    Three Weeks

  • Lois-Amber Toole’s solo show SLAY balances light and shade, in an unflinching confrontation of trauma, misogyny, and the North-South divide.

The Student (5 out of 5 stars)

  • Writer-performer Lois-Amber Toole gives a beguiling performance as Kit in Slay, a funny, touching and increasingly revealing exploration of trauma, self-worth and what we need to do to survive in this modern world of…
