About this show
What is normal when algorithms decide? Data analysts synthesise the distorted live experiment that is ‘the Samsa family’. Gregor wakes grotesquely transformed – every movement tracked, predicted, judged. Is he broken, or just outside the data set? They measure behaviour, forecast reaction. If productivity defines worth, what happens when you can’t perform? Are we shaping society – or being shaped? Inspired by Franz Kafka's classic novella, this reimagining explores AI algorithms, manipulated lives, and human mutability. Am I normal – or just compliant? Step inside. Scroll. Accept?

What the reviewers said
We have captured 1 published review and 11 audience reviews for this show from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe’s own listing. The excerpts below are the reviewers’ words, not ours — follow each link for the full review.
As Gregor Samsa awoke one morning from uneasy dreams, he found himself transformed in his bed into a gigantic insect. That much, of course, everybody knows; but Kafka’s famous work still rewards further study.
