About this show
Man or Bear is a fast-moving, darkly comic new play about fear, friendship and survival inspired by the viral question: Would you rather be alone in the woods with a man or a bear? Blending kitchen sink realism, music and bold physical sequences, it follows three generations of women in the lead up to an act of violence. Rather than centreing the perpetrator, the play turns its focus to women's resilience, humour and solidarity, offering a poetic and unsettling reflection on modern day misogyny. Director: Ursula Martinez. Performers: Lesley Ewen, Amaia Naima Aguinaga, Katie Hurley.

- Venue notes: Accessible entry: Once in the Courtyard, follow the signs up the access ramp, pass in front of the decking bar and into the main reception. Follow signage down the corridor, past the Café turning left at the neon corridor. Once past the double doors, the Red Lecture Theatre is directly ahead. There are 14 steps down to the space, a further 10 steps through the seating and onto the stage. The Access Route requires Duty Manager Assistance from the reception of the main building, consisting of an escort via the Tech Cube building lift. Wheelchair access type:Permanent Ramp, Lift (Building Lift) Stairs: 11- 20 Number of stairs is provided as guidance and is not in addition to any wheelchair access type (lift/ramp etc) stated above.
