About this show
Maya is going through something. It's something to do with feeling... this thing of... ummm... like... maybe not even... you know... Actually, she can't find the words to articulate what it is. So Maya does what any normal person would do: she invites an audience to help her invent new words. Word invention is an art form that requires an audience. Conveniently enough, so is theatre. The play twists and turns as Maya the playwright gets in the way of Maya the performer (and vice versa), on this increasingly chaotic journey of trying to articulate herself.

What the reviewers said
We have captured 3 published reviews and 43 audience reviews for this show from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe’s own listing. The excerpts below are the reviewers’ words, not ours — follow each link for the full review.
It’s a well written and constructed production that poses questions about different languages and the meaning of words. However, don’t expect to leave with all the answers as Shobam never claims to have them.
— Theatre and Arts Reviews (4 out of 5 stars)
4.5 Stars Brilliant written show that questions the nature of language and how we look at ourselves
4.5 Stars Sometimes a show’s blurb doesn’t do it justice. This is a clever, smart and engaging piece of theatre, and not the dry, earnest show-about-words that I was half expecting.
