About this show

A drag show for kids about the science of rainbows! Join New Zealand superstar Hugo Grrrl for a musical, magical adventure exploring the skies above. Can you help find Ray The Sun, Misty The Cloud and Wayne The Rain? Maybe even the fabulous Archie The Rainbow?! Together our weathery friends make the mysteries of meteorology fun, all while proving the power of glitter, dress-ups and friendship through original songs, stories and – of course – outrageous costumes. Best for 2-10 year olds and neurodiverse friends, but even big kids will love this wholesome, goofy and glamorous experience.

What the reviewers said

We have captured 3 published reviews and 18 audience reviews for this show from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe’s own listing. The excerpts below are the reviewers’ words, not ours — follow each link for the full review.

  • Hugo’s Rainbow Show is best suited to children aged two to eight, but its charm reaches considerably further. Young families looking for something inclusive, imaginative and genuinely joyful should make room for this…

Broadway World (4 out of 5 stars)

  • Hugo’s Raainbow Show is a really gentle and beautiful hour for little ones and wouldn’t feel out of place as a CBeebies production, not least because beneath all the colour, feathers and songs sits a simple message…

    Fringe Review

  • Hugo is a gifted performer and, let’s face it, pretty fabulous. I would recommend this show to all kids from age 2 up to 9 /10, and their parents as I thoroughly enjoyed it too.
