Grace has a massive head. Physically. Not egotistically. Grace dares to tackle a controversial topic – is it an insult to tell a woman she looks like her Dad? From her toddler niece getting a boyfriend before her to embracing millennial women’s religion (going woo woo) to her Dad’s memory slipping and Grace’s big face being the only one he recognises. 4.5 Stars. Irish comedian Grace Mulvey’s Gigantica is an hour of stand-up comedy which disarms you with its bluntness, refreshing transparency, and ultimately a sentimentality which comes as a hidden punch.
What you are left with at the end is a show about all the things that make us who we are, the silliness of family, the emotional payback of love and kicking against convention when required. 4 Stars
