About this show

Dan has been a data collector for 10 years. You know when they say how much it costs to live somewhere? He's the guy who finds out. He travels round the world and walks around supermarkets recording the prices of apples / cheese / you name it into his Dictaphone. He's been to pretty much every supermarket, in every country, in the world. This is the story of how. From the man who brought you How I Came Third in the North Korean Marathon.

What the reviewers said

We have captured 6 published reviews and 19 audience reviews for this show from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe’s own listing. The excerpts below are the reviewers’ words, not ours — follow each link for the full review.

  • Every Supermarket in the World is a delightfully odd piece of travel storytelling built around something completely mundane.

Roviews (4 out of 5 stars)

  • Being a data collector for a decade isn’t an obvious comedic source, but from the opening song’s dash through the supermarket shelves and his increasingly mad recordings of prices and weights into a Dictaphone it’s…

Lothian Life (4 out of 5 stars)

  • The comedian mines his globe-trotting career for surreal stories, sharp laughs and a poignant reflection on the rise of AI

The List (3 out of 5 stars)
