About this show
Amanda Knox is approaching forty, juggling motherhood and finally getting around to being furious about the whole wrongful-imprisonment thing. Especially when half the world is telling her to get over it, while the other half still thinks she's guilty. How on earth will she explain it all to her daughter, who is now asking to hear the story of "Mama Goes to Italy"? And can she protect her from, well, everything, knowing her own mother couldn't protect her no matter how hard she tried?

3.5 Stars. Framing the show as stand-up comedy is, in my opinion, inaccurate. Knox refers to her mistreatment, her grief, and motherhood in a composed way that does not trivialise the past insensitively.
Scrutinised to no end for her polarising Fringe debut, Amanda Knox’s reclamation of her story soars as an insight into injustice, but falls flat as comedy.

The result is a quietly optimistic hour; true crime addicts coming for saucy details on the case will leave dissatisfied. They will, however, learn that she has a pretty good singing voice.
